This illustration of an Eastern cottontail rabbit is based on a visitor to the garden who I caught eating from one of my favorite blueberry bushes.

Eastern cottontails are the most common rabbits you’ll find here in upstate South Carolina. They’re always an adorable sight in the garden, even if that means you find them eating your blueberries! (In this guy’s defense, he also eats some of the weedier plants in the flower beds).
